金箔の館について

金箔は、金閣寺や日光東照宮をはじめ、漆工芸・織物・九谷焼など、さまざまな建造物や伝統工芸品に用いられ、その98％以上を金沢箔が占めています。10円玉ほどの金合金を一畳ほどの大きさに延ばし、1万分の1mmの均一の薄さに仕上げられます。箔打ち紙と呼ばれる金箔をはさむ特殊な和紙、雨や雪の多い金沢の気候風土、そして何よりも熟練の高度な技が合わさって、最高級の金箔が作られています。
館内の随所に金箔が貼られ、きらびやかな空間となっています。そして、圧巻は純金箔と金糸で装飾された「黄金の間」。天井、襖、畳、欄間に至るまでまばゆい輝きを放っています。
